Michelle Powell

The doctor is in! Dr. Michelle Powell is a medical professional with over 25 years of experience, successful business owner and active community leader running for Miami Gardens City Council.

In addition to spearheading initiatives for grassroots health awareness, international medical missions and annual scholarships, Dr. Powell received a Commendation from the City of Miami Gardens for her leadership and weekly Senior Citizen workshops at the Miami Gardens Senior Center.

Issues That
Matter to Us

Support the police department in engaging and training residents concerning crime prevention.

Creation of a support platform for regular intercommunication among Miami Garden’s districts. This platform will empower the residents and alert designated law enforcement to the criminal activities in Miami Gardens.

Support law enforcement with mental health engagement and up support programming. According to FBI National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), homicide in Miami Gardens is up to 184%. Violent crimes are 78% higher than the state average and assaults are 69% higher than the state average. Robberies are 140% percent higher than the state average. Many of these crimes are the direct result of mental illness and anger.

Support a better quality of life for residents by fostering continued expansion of parks that are accessible, functional, and safe.
Promote healthy living among residents in their home and community through educational health services on “Living Green”.
Provide incentives to residents to create greener spaces and cleaner water in Miami Gardens.

Promote and build awareness among the residents of Miami Gardens of existing programs and opportunities for education, training, and job readiness.
Foster healthy business collaboration among private and public sectors to promote the growth of the city’s economy.
Encourage business through highlighting innovation, customer experience and community engagement. Foster relationships among businesses by highlighting and residents of Miami Gardens by highlighting innovation, customer experience, and community engagement.
